HUD Proposed Rule
The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) opposes the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) proposed rule that would prohibit ineligible immigrants from living in HUD-subsidized housing or receiving rental assistance and has voiced its opposition to Congress. The proposed HUD rule threatens the housing stability of thousands of immigrant families that legally reside in public and Section 8 housing and will further increase the panic, fear, and confusion among immigrant communities.
If you are a current ineligible immigrant applicant or participant of public or Section 8 housing, the Los Angeles County Office of Immigrant Affairs provides various resources to the immigrant community.
The LACDA is watching the proposed rule closely and will provide updates to residents if there are any changes.
